MK420-Newsletter by Svetozar Brazza Radic image001.jpg

Dear music friends,

With the above mail title "Monthly course MK420 is ready" I once again welcome all music hobby players who have been in my mail register for a very long time - but no longer my monthly newsletter since the MK406 of June 2020 got to see! The reason for this forced break was the corona pandemic and in a very perfidious way: not the corona disease itself - we and the whole family were spared from it, but various "side effects" of this pandemic caused it. This fact is still disputed by our doctors - but the effect was there: we spent countless hours in various hospitals - and my beautiful "music time" has passed - sometimes with countless days without a single musical note! Since I've written about this before, I'll leave it at that - and thank you all for your patience!

My ongoing internet announcements and the promise that I will continue - as soon as I can - will be put into action from January 2023 - so there is my newsletter again! I actually managed to fill a big gap - and as you can see MK420 is the logical continuation of the "frozen" time of MK406 in June 2020. MK420 is the course from August 2021 - and that means that I have completed the 14 month Courses - from MK407 in July 2020, to MK420 in August 2021 - according to my motto: All monthly courses are scheduled correctly and made up for!

The MK420 contains the following four titles: 1. J'Attendrei is a hit by Dalida - her 1976 version was even celebrated as the first disco hit in France. The origin is much older: the singer Rina Ketty recorded it in 1938. When France was occupied in 1940, it quickly became the great French war song, roughly comparable to "Lily Marlen" in Germany. The title was originally written for the Thymo-Meyers-Premium-Club and Wersi-OAX series as an audio playback - but I then adopted it for all GM instruments with style and in different versions. 2. La Paloma, a song that is among the most sung, performed, arranged and recorded pieces of music. La Paloma, a habanera, is closely linked to the history of phonograms and so there are recordings from all over the world. The oldest was probably made around 1880. In Germany, the song was popularized by Hans Albers in 1944, and both Billy Vaughn, in 1958 with an instrumental version, and Freddy Quinn, in 1961, climbed to number one in the charts. 3. Mexico, a pleasing instrumental track featuring Mexican trumpets and guitars. The nice and happy melody suits the early 60's era perfectly. You didn't need sophisticated lyrics or perfect beats to get on the charts. At that time, Mexico was a top ten hit - today, however, the title is only welcome as unobtrusive background music.4. Tico Tico Alla Turca is a commissioned medley by the Berlin pianist GERD WEIHE. The "Tico Tico" from 1917 was originally a purely instrumental piece and is still played today as an organ samba. "Alla Turca" is Sonata No. 11 in A major K. 331. It is one of Mozart's best-known piano sonatas from 1783. Gerd Weihe has put together these two "classics" of general entertainment art in a very clever way. He didn't just write down the two titles one after the other, but "musically mixed" individual parts of both titles together. In the Mozart original there is also another wonderful modulation to F# minor, which I, in my KEY2 version, can only expect the "advanced player" to do!
