Dear music friends,

The following four titles can be found in the MK421:
1537. "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)" is a song written by Jim Steinman and recorded by American rock singer Meat Loaf featuring Lorraine Crosby. The song was released in August 1993 as the first single from his sixth album Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell (1993). The last six stanzas feature Crosby, who was only mentioned as "Mrs. Loud" in the album notes. She does not appear in the video where her singing is lip-synched by Dana Patrick. Meat Loaf promoted the single with American singer Patti Russo. The power ballad was a commercial success, reaching number one in 28 countries.

1538. Chiquitita is a 1979 ballad by the Swedish pop group ABBA. It was written by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, with lead vocals by Agnetha Fältskog. The track was released as a single in January 1979 with the B-side Lovelight and became a major success for the group. The lyrics are about the encouragement of a close friend who is trying to get over the grief of a lost love. The song has a Latin American influence in its title, which means something like "My little one" in Spanish. With the Spanish version of Chiquitita, ABBA established its success in the Spanish-speaking countries, especially in Spain, Argentina and Mexico.

1539. El Cumbanchero. Rafael Hernández Marín (aka "El Jibarito", 1892-1965) was a Puerto Rican composer. From the age of twelve he had music lessons with Professor José Ruellán Lequerica, later with Jesús Figueroa. He learned to play the cornet, trombone, tuba, guitar, violin and piano. As a youth he entered the Municipal Chapel of San Juan, directed by Manuel Tizol. His first composition, a danza entitled María y Victoria, was written in 1912. In all, Hernández wrote more than 3000 compositions, including popular pieces such as Silencio, Ausencia, Campanitas de Cristal, Preciosa, El Cumbanchero and Lamento Borincano.

1540. Ode To Joy. After attending the College of Performing Arts in Philadelphia, Ric Iannone worked as a concert artist for Wersi Keyboards and toured the US and Europe for 21 years. He created MIDI accompaniments for The Willis Music Company and Frederick Harris Music Company. His repertoire includes classical, contemporary music and his favorites, jazz and big band music. It's truly amazing that Ric only took the 16 bars of the 4th movement, which he then played over and over again in a specific order - playing a different instrumentation and phrasing each time. My version KEY2 reflects the Ric's version, with all modulations and orchestral transitions. The KEY1/ORG1 versions remain in C major until the greatly abbreviated ending.
